Environmental Auditing
Audit reviews are performed regularly as part of for instance ISO certification. Independent status reviews are valuable even without an official certification policy – which in many contexts may be considered superfluously extensive.
add energy offers assistance in all kinds of health, environment and safety (HSE) related auditing and verification services. Our work implies a systematic examination of relevant issues, systems and/or performances. The scope and focus areas for each assignment is agreed with the client’s contact person on beforehand.
The assessment is typically carried out by making use of interviews, spot checks and inspections, indicating whether the HSE management system works according to its intention, according to governmental requirements, the ISO 14000-series or other standards or requirements. Annual reports, environmental accounts and other official documentation involving HSE related information may also be audited.
When relevant, the work is carried out in co-operation with certified accountants and/or accreditation bodies. For instance, for several consecutive years (2000-2007) we formed a verification team together with Ernst & Young, to review systems and substance behind the HSE accounts in former Statoil’s corporate annual report. Due to closer consultative relations with former Hydro, and as from 2008 also with StatoilHydro, we have now withdrawn from this assignment.
