Energy and Emissions Forecasting
Try the simple add energy methodology to establish accurate fuel consumption and emission forecasts for the offshore petroleum activities.
The methodology is based on future production, delivery and injection rates. Technical parameters, such as engine and turbine efficiency, fuel calorific values etc. are used as input.
Since 1998, add energy has made use of this methodology to assist several operator companies in preparation of energy and emission forecasts, related to their activities on the Norwegian shelf.
The methodology has proven to give accurate results, and may be used:
- as a decision support tool when trading with emissions of greenhouse gases
- for quick simulations of emissions and energy consumption when evaluating alternative development concepts
- as a basis for cost/benefit evaluations when considering alternative technologies
- to provide input to various forms of governmental reports (PDO (Plan for Development and Operation), environmental data to Revised National Budget (RNB), etc.)
