add energy has developed a method to establish forecasts for future emissions to air from offshore petroleum activities. The method is acknowledged by Norwegian authorities (NPD), and also generates forecasts for fuel demand and estimated consumption of gas and diesel fuels.
For several years, add energy has used this method in assisting Norsk Hydro, Esso Norge AS and ConocoPhillips in Norway with the establishment of emission forecasts for their petroleum activities. A major part of this work has been related the operator's obligation to report environmental data annually to the Norwegian Revised National Budget (RNB).
On behalf of the NPD and operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, add energy has also prepared general guidelines as to how energy demands and emissions to air from the petroleum activities should be established.
Furthermore, the methodology has also been further developed in a specially designed PC based simulation tool for energy and emission forecasting.
See more information regarding this tool under NEMS Forecaster.
